oneZero was recently named one of the Best Places to Work by the Business Intelligence Group. This was an important designation, as the unbiased, third-party organization recognized oneZero for creating a working environment that challenges employees while making work fun and engaging.
What’s more, building a great company culture has always been a core part of oneZero’s mission. According to Andrew Ralich, oneZero’s CEO, “From the founding of the company, our CTO Jesse Johnson and I have known that we succeed by creating an environment where our employees can thrive.”
That being said, company culture can be hard to define. So, we asked employees from throughout the organization to explain what it’s like to work at oneZero. Here’s what they had to say.
Values—Mary Mycroft, Director of Legal and Corporate Counsel: “At oneZero, our values aren’t just platitudes that are posted on a website. The company has certain values that are integral to how it conducts the business—this is evident from how the business treats its employees, customers, and other stakeholders.”
Recognition—Nikita Rao, Technical Project Manager: “Everyone is recognized and valued. There is no micro-management whatsoever and great management with efficient decision-making capabilities.
Teamwork—Alena Barysava, Quality Assurance Engineer: “Management has created a unique company culture where employees want to spend time together. A large number of team-building events, contests and interesting challenges allow us to get to know each other better.”
Mission—Jimi Collura, IT Infrastructure Architect: “I feel that the entire company has the same goal. I feel like I have the opportunity to speak and be heard all the way up to the top.”
Fun—Eric Silva, Senior Creative Designer: “The oneZero Slack community is very active, especially in the non-work-related channels. We review movies; we compete to see who can cook the best turnip dish; we share music, homeowners tips and shopping recommendations. Everyone seems to genuinely care, and I find the conversations generated to be very rewarding.”
